About Us

The IDB Graduates Association of Kenya (IGAK) is a Non-Profit Organisation formed by the Kenyan graduates who were sponsored by the IDB to help uplift the lives of the Muslim Ummah in Kenya.

The main aim for the scholarship as awarded by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is to train competent Muslims in a profession that will enable them to help the community they came from. Most of the beneficiaries of the scholarship are trained in the medical, engineering or related fields. It has been sponsoring students from Kenya since 1983.

IGAK was first formed in 2005 by a few of the graduates who had an idea that they will make more of an impact if they worked together in a group rather than individually. The idea was presented to the other graduates and thus IGAK was born.

IGAK has organised several medical camps and food distribution programs throughout Nairobi. IGAK is also working closely with the Muslim Education Council of Kenya in improving the education standards of Muslims in the country.

IGAK works fully on donations from well wishers and all the members work on a voluntary basis.
